Permanent

I spent a whole afternoon browsing the permanent collection at Musée D'Orsay.

It's an old train station.

Some of my favorites, photographed entirely without permission.

There were even paintings that look like sculptures.

I learned about the Symbolist movement, a new favorite era for me to love, with gorgeous, rich colors and a dreamy boldness, influencing the Art Nouveau movement.

And let's not forget les arts decoratifs, full of opulence and splendor.

Tout simplement splendide.

  1. First, I cannot believe what you get away with! I took out a pencil at the Boston Museum and got nabbed.

As a long fan of Art Nouveau, I was woefully ignorant of the Symbolist movement. So thanks for the education; I am going to learn more about this.
